It has been my fourth time to come to Semarang, but it was
my first time to stay in a hotel.
My husband was the one who picked the hotel. Although it was
actually far from the wedding ceremony, which was our main reason to come here,
but it was near from Tawang Station. We were about to leave on Sunday morning,
the earliest train, so we didn’t want to miss it (again) since we brought two
kids whose quite a challenge to make them ready before 7.00 am.
The Metro Hotel lied
on Jl Haji Agus Salim 2-4 Semarang. It faced Pasar Johar and Masjid Agung
Semarang was nearby. It was one of the oldest hotel in Semarang. But though it
was old, but I didn’t smell anything old. I mean, when we entered our 2224
room, the smell was good, I even lied freely on the carpet by midnite while
turning my internet on and not smelling any kind of bugs.
We had a superior room which kost Rp380000,-. It was cheap,
i must say. Since we had a very large bed, where the four of us could sleep and
not getting any backache when we woke up. But it has a sofabed too, so we
actually didn’t need any kind of extra bed.
The bathroom was quite compact. A bathtub, a closet, and
drawers. Actually it was enough, but since we brought kids who were very happy
playing in the bathtub, so not all of us could get in. No probs, I just spend
my free time watching tv.
Well the inernational channels were not that much. There
were even no kids channel. Well, we are here to have a trip not to watch tv,
right?
One thing I like about old hotel is, you can’t see the AC
box. And it was very cold, though I setted it on 25 degrees and turn it off by
2 am.
Too bad the view was not that good, though it was the
perfect side to see the sunset but the height was not. It was too close with
the hotel canopy and our view was disturbed by the electricity wires along the
street.
But overall it was OK.
And after we did our check out, the hotel gave us a free
ride to the station. Thank youu ....
